The Stewardship and Mission Interpretation Unit is charged with interpreting the mission of the church; to develop effective means of communication between the presbytery and its member churches; and to encourage and promote the “grace of liberality” within presbytery’s congregations. The Chair, or a representative designated by the Unit, serves on the Coordinating Council.
The responsibilities of this Unit include: |

o Telling “the story” of presbytery’s mission, its priorities, initiatives, and
programs;
o Planning, promoting, and providing stewardship workshops and programs
designed to assist congregations with stewardship education and the church’s
annual stewardship campaign;
o Designing and distributeing materials to interpret and promote the mission of
the wider church, including planning and implementing an annual every church
canvas, visiting Sessions, providing adequate information, interpreting the
mission of the wider church, and soliciting support for presbytery’s Mission
Budget;
o Planning and preparing audio-visuals for presbytery promotion of its mission;
o Preparing resource materials to assist congregations in developing their
understanding of Presbyterianism;
o Promoting the use of resources provided by the General Assembly and Synod
for mission interpretation;
o Providing oversight for the production of presbytery’s newsletter, The
Companion, Synod Voice page(s), the denomination’s Mission Yearbook page,
and other publications as required.
o Producing and managing presbytery’s Internet web site, as well as developing
and maintaining an Internet newsletter.
